You have looked at the itinerary and have already made up your mind to join us. Now you will need to download 2 forms to register for this great adventure.

1. Registration form (PDF – 92kb)
2. Student agreement (PDF – 34kb)

Once the 2 forms are completed, attach payment either by credit or post-dated cheques. If available you may attach any or all of the additional documents listed below. If they are not available, you may forward them at your earliest convenience. An interview to meet your child will be scheduled once registration is received.

a) a wallet size picture of your child
b) a copy of the birth certificate
c) a copy of the OHIP card
d) a letter of reference from your child’s French teacher unless exempted
e) a medical form (PDF – 296kb)
f) the personal information form

You will then receive an email confirmation, more forms to fill out and further details about the trip!!!

Interested?

If you are not sure yet but are interested, you can complete an “expression of interest” form (PDF – 1.9mb) and send it to Camp Tournesol.

Once Camp Tournesol has received your expression of interest, a spot will be tentatively reserved for your child for a period of 3 weeks. We will mail out or email a registration package which will include all the forms that are required to be signed and returned to us within that timeframe. This period will also allow us to answer and clarify all your questions.

Admissiblility

Camp Tournesol invites students who are committed to developing strong French verbal skills and have an interest in experiencing the outdoors while discovering themselves to apply for this exciting opportunity.

APPLICATION CRITERIAS

Students who meet the following criteria may apply to participate in “Algonquin 2012″:

  • Campers must be graduating from grade 6 to grade 9 in June 2012. Younger siblings will be considered and evaluated on a case by case basis.
  • Applicants must be French immersion Students or
  • Applicants must be francophone students or
  • Other students with a strong level of verbal fluency in French
  • Students must be able to swim and be comfortable with sleeping in tents and living in the outdoors

Acceptance process

Camp Tournesol will review each application carefully to ensure that each participant is able to fully enjoy this trip. This experience is meant to be conducted entirely in French and in a pleasant atmosphere for each participant. Unacceptable behavior will not be tolerated. The acceptance process is to ensure that each participant is ready for such an experience both from a standpoint of language, maturity and sense of responsibility.

Applicants will be required to present a letter of recommendation from a current teacher (or less than 2 years) attesting to the student’s fluency in French as well as speaking to the child’s behavior and character. Children may also be asked to meet a representative from Camp Tournesol to be interviewed in French. Students will also be asked to sign a contract in which the code of conduct will be spelled out.
