Every year, Camp Tournesol receives an outpouring of emails, phone calls and letters from happy parents thrilled to share the positive feedback they hear from their little campers. But the truth is, none of it would be possible without the qualified and committed team working tirelessly behind the scenes.
Founder, Martine Brouillet, is committed to providing superior French education for children in the GTA year-round. So with that goal in mind, she is excited to announce that Camp Tournesol will be expanding its team in preparation for summer 2017.

Amanda Cloutier – Program Director – Day Programs
For over 3 years, Amanda has been an integral part of the Camp Tournesol team. In 2013, she was in involved in delivery some of Tournesol’s day and overnight camp programs. She then returned in 2014 to assist with the Counsellor in Training leadership weekend in addition to her previous responsibilities. With that experience under her belt, Amanda joined Camp Tournesol’s office team in the spring of 2015 as well as Campus Coordinator at the Mississauga South campus for the summer.
In 2014 she graduated from the University of Waterloo as valedictorian, with an honours specialist in the French Teaching Specialisation. The following year, she completed her Bachelor of Education at Nipissing University, and became an Ontario Certified Teacher. Amanda is currently continuing her education at the University of Ottawa where she is pursuing a Master’s of Arts in Education, researching the leadership of French as a Second Language programs in the GTA.
Today, Amanda assumes the newly created senior position of Program Director for all day camp programs. Beyond directing our school year programs and flagship programs including our popular French summer day camps for kinders and Counsellor in Training programs, she will also develop our brand-new highly anticipated tele-tutoring programs. In addition, Amanda will oversee the day to day operations at all campuses to keep everything running smoothly.
With a passion for creating opportunities for students to have fun in French, combined with her extensive education in teaching French as a second language – Camp Tournesol is a natural fit for this dedicated Ontario Certified Teacher.
Stephanie Maynch – Program Specialist – School Trips
If you haven’t already heard, Camp Tournesol is offering its 15 year-long expertise in French immersion experiences to schools in Ontario by creating unforgettable French school trips for students. Our newest hire, Stephanie Maynch, couldn’t be more excited to be working as the Program Specialist for Camp Tournesol’s School Trips. She has proven to be an integral part of the staff during the spring of 2016 and with our short overnight trips.
In June, she graduated from Laurentian University with a Bachelors of Arts in French and Geography. Stephanie has returned to Laurentian this year to complete her Bachelors of Education.
Marie Scholz – Marketing Specialist
After serving as a camp counsellor for 4 years, Marie couldn’t quite shake the camp “bug”. So naturally, she is thrilled to assume the position of Marketing Specialist that combines her love for camp, her knack for online media along with her education at Western University in Media and the Public Interest.
As Marketing Specialist, Marie will use various channels and media to spread Camp Tournesol’s mission to as many parents, children, teachers and schools as possible. She will help keep Camp Tournesol’s growing community informed by overseeing all marketing efforts including social media posting, website analysis, advertising strategies, and alternative marketing initiatives for current and brand new programs.
In past positions, she developed all of the skills needed to excel in Marketing including web design, social media management, SEO, and professional writing. This past summer 2016, Marie worked part time assisting with all Marketing efforts for Camp Tournesol. She is excited to take on more responsibility as Marketing Specialist and bring more smiling faces to camp!
Amy Tejeda – HR Specialist
As Camp Tournesol continues to expand, the position of Human Resource Specialist is becoming more critical to the growth of the company. After serving as a camp counsellor last summer, Amy saw first-hand what working at Camp Tournesol is all about. Now, she couldn’t be happier to recruit dedicated French-speaking staff to maintain the high quality of our programs.
Amy will make Camp Tournesol’s hiring process seamless by maximising our recruiting efforts and coordinating staff in all of our programs including all payroll related activities. She will also be responsible for the important portfolio of health and safety onsite at our campuses.
Amy is pursuing a degree in Business Management and human resources at the University of Toronto and she is a Montreal born, Ontario bred francophone student. Her entire early education was spent in the French-Canadian school system. So she brings real-world experience and practical expertise to this exciting role.
